ABOUT ABOUT

In the spirit of colonial reenactment and craft inspired by Allison Smith: Set Dressing, The Arts Club of Chicago will present a Harvest Day for all ages, which is free and open to the public from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm in The Arts Club gallery. A tour of the exhibition, open through 31 January 2015, kicks off the event at 1:00 pm. The rest of the afternoon will feature crafts, storytelling, and seasonal treats that highlight local farming and craft communities.

Following the brief tour of Allison Smith: Set Dressing, renowned storyteller Reid Miller, who has entertained generations of youngsters and families nationally, will amuse audiences. Performing in costume and strumming on his banjo, Miller will bring to life stories of oral literature common to the colonial period, with a modern twist.

Stay for craft demonstrations and activities including corn husk doll making and butter churning while snacking on fall seasonal treats. Stop by The Arts Club with your families and friends to explore living history in action.
